Compliance Analyst

As a Compliance Analyst for LaunchGood, your role is instrumental in ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining a secure environment for our users. In your role, you will be responsible for conducting extensive reviews of campaigns and performing due diligence on Campaign Creators (CCs), be it individuals or organizations. Another crucial part of your role will be to review Ads in line with our internal policies and guidelines. You will need to demonstrate team spirit by engaging with diverse teams to uphold crowdfunding industry norms, thereby safeguarding our community.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

• Stay updated with regulatory requirements and ensure that our crowdfunding platform complies with all relevant regulations.
• Conduct periodic compliance assessments to identify areas for improvement and recommend necessary changes.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement compliance procedures effectively, considering the unique aspects of crowdfunding.
• Stay current with compliance news, regulations and updates, and ensure timely notification of relevant changes to internal stakeholders.

Due Diligence

• Examine compliance escalations promptly, ensuring to conduct appropriate screening and due diligence according to our internal protocols and procedures.
• Communicate compliance decisions to Trust & Safety in a clear and concise manner.
• Review additional documents, such as MoUs, audited financials, annual and impact reports effectively.
• Assess red flags related to campaigns and/or CCs with a risk based approach, escalating where guidance is needed.
• Respond to escalations and questions from the wider team in an informative manner.
• Work closely with the Ads team to ensure Ads are reviewed within the agreed SLA, currently 24 hours.
• Inform BizDev reps and the Ads team of decisions, additional verification needs or campaign pitch changes.

KYC Documentation

• Review and validate customer provided KYC documentation for accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Assist in KYC verifications with a focus on crowdfunding specific requirements.
• Collaborate with the Compliance team to enhance and streamline KYC processes.

Compliance Policies and Procedures

• Leverage knowledge of industry compliance standards to update policies, procedures and documentation tailored to crowdfunding.
• Continuously analyze internal operations and ensure procedural compliance with industry norms.

Training and Communication

• Train employees on compliance requirements and crowdfunding regulations.
• Support team onboarding by delivering compliance training to new joiners.
• Stay informed on regulatory updates and share key changes with relevant stakeholders.

Daily Tasks

• Handle escalations from the Trust and Safety team quickly and contribute to ad hoc projects.
• Review Ads in collaboration with the compliance team, Ads team and BizDev.
• Flag concerns to the Compliance Manager and Director of Compliance as needed.
• Monitor platform risk on a daily basis.
• Support other teams with compliance queries and requests.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of compliance principles and relevant regulations, with prior experience in compliance, legal, risk or regulatory roles, ideally within financial services or fintech. They should be confident handling KYC and due diligence reviews and possess strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey compliance decisions. Attention to detail, a methodical approach to problem solving and the ability to work independently in a fast paced, remote first environment is essential. Experience collaborating across teams and meeting SLAs is important, along with a commitment to ethical standards, continuous learning and safeguarding platform integrity.
