Satellite Expert

Position Objective

The Satellite Expert in the Telco Sector will serve as the primary technical authority for the design and implementation of satellite communication networks, including Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), and Geostationary Equatorial Orbit (GEO) satellites. The objective is to provide specialized satellite connectivity solutions and support the development of innovative communication technologies to enhance the company's telecommunications infrastructure.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Technical Expertise:

• Act as the subject matter expert for satellite communications networks including LEO, MEO, and GEO satellites.

• Provide guidance and technical support for the design and implementation of satellite services.

• Offer expert advice on Free Space Optics solutions and user terminal selections, including antennas, modems, and routers.

Custom Connectivity Design:

• Develop tailored satellite connectivity designs for various applications such as Internet access, point-to-multipoint connections, and mobile backhaul.

• Support Ground Station as a Service (G SaaS) design and deployment at key locations like TC1 and Space Park.

• Collect requirements from various regions and sectors to create effective satellite service designs.

Collaboration and Compliance:

• Collaborate with suppliers like One Web and SES to identify and select the most suitable solutions.

• Perform dimensioning and forecasting of satellite services to ensure optimal resource allocation.

• Ensure compliance with both international and local regulations governing satellite services.

• Maintain comprehensive design and Statement of Work (So W) documentation for all satellite projects.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of satellite communications networks including LEO, MEO, and GEO.

• Proficiency in designing and implementing satellite connectivity solutions.

• Experience with Free Space Optics and various user terminal technologies.

• Familiarity with G SaaS (Ground Station as a Service) concepts and implementations.

Professional Experience:

• Proven experience working with satellite communications in the telco sector.

• Experience collaborating with satellite service providers and managing supplier relationships.
