Job Description

We are hiring a Product Management Officer (Financial Applications & Masters) to support the Product Owner/Controller in managing and delivering financial systems enhancements and support for Finance on a global scale. This role ensures the provision of best-in-class financial systems, applications, and management information for internal use by Finance and across the business to inform and enable commercial decisions. The role also involves implementing and ensuring compliance with effective policies and processes for financial systems access and the maintenance of operational master data updates, ensuring appropriate control over the Group’s assets and accurate financial information processing. Operational masters include direct operating cost contracts, Interline partner agreements, tax masters, supplier and customer masters, revenue and cost accounting masters, etc.

Job Outline:

  • Provide financial applications support in line with respective SLAs, suggesting root cause fixes for recurring issues.

  • Offer consultancy and business support related to financial applications, aiding the end-user community in utilizing systems effectively and enabling evolving business processes through improved system functionality.

  • Explore and suggest new features in financial applications to continuously improve the products under management.

  • Maintain regression test packs and conduct first-level User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for financial applications, finding innovative ways to improve the testing cycle.

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user guides, and setup/configuration documents for systems and functional masters for financial applications.

  • Manage user access and functional masters update requests, ensuring compliance with defined policies, SOPs, and SLAs.

  • Support the periodic review of users and operational masters to maintain healthy master data compliant with policies and processes.

  • Configure applications in line with approved setup and configuration documents to ensure accurate financial information processing.

  • Understand existing business processes and support change enablers in training and adoption.

  • Manage own performance and continuous learning plan, assisting other team members with their development to support succession planning.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Technology, Finance, or Accounting preferred.

  • Demonstrable continuous self-development through career highly considered.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in a functional role (Finance and/or Accounting) in a supervisory capacity.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Functional knowledge of financial applications, including but not limited to ERP Finance (Oracle Financials eBS preferred), Airline Revenue Accounting, Direct Operating Costs, Payment Gateway, Treasury, Planning, Forecasting, Consolidation & Budgeting, Reporting/Analytics.

  • Ability to understand and integrate financial applications within the overall technology landscape and finance function.

  • Sound knowledge of accounting and taxation.

  • Operational finance knowledge with the ability to understand finance processes from a system and operational perspective.

  • Experience in handling master management functions, preferably in an airline.

  • Basic product and/or project management skills.
