Job Description

Operational Responsibilities for Field Service:

  • Full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for EGSSA Field Service.

  • Monitor expenses and establish controls to ensure profitability according to the plan.

  • Develop strategies to advance sales and increase return on investment for the field service operations.

  • Plan and organize methods to develop the field service team to implement strategies and achieve planned goals.

  • Ensure field service personnel have the necessary tools to execute technical scopes.

  • Ensure synergies within the Field Service team to maximize revenue, operating income, and customer satisfaction.

  • Assist the sales team in securing new field service projects.

  • Act as EGSSA's customer-facing representative for field service.

  • Implement procedures to comply with local and governmental regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor supervisory personnel performance to ensure fair and equal treatment of all personnel.

  • Implement Elliott Quality Assurance programs and oversee ISO-9001:2015 compliance.

  • Plan and implement warranty, scrap and rework, and cost reduction measures related to field service.

  • Manage Root Cause Failure Analysis process and warranty program.

  • Develop operational plans to improve resource utilization and implement cost reduction and growth strategies.

  • Develop and implement internal technical training for personnel.

  • Plan, forecast, direct, control, supervise, and develop employee performance.

  • Conduct business consistent with company policies, yet open to new opportunities.

  • Monitor and ensure robust field safety programs and training for all field service personnel.

  • Maintain training and development plans for all field service employees.

  • Coordinate all field service activities such as installations, turnarounds, breakdowns, and troubleshooting.

  • Manage the project side of the field service department to satisfy all technical and commercial requirements in liaison with the EMA Technical Services Manager.

  • Act as a service consultant to customers, field personnel, and other Elliott departments in collaboration with the EMA Technical Services Manager and Regional Sales Director.

  • Provide financial forecast data and forecast manpower requirements.

  • Control the utilization of assigned personnel and hire new employees and contract personnel as required in liaison with the Head of Operations.

  • Assist service sales technically and commercially in the selling process of installation and maintenance projects.

Internal Contacts:

  • Regular contact with other members of the leadership team and regional managers/supervisors.

  • Frequent interaction with departments such as Sales and Marketing, Parts, Apparatus, Engineering, Service Time, Shop Management, Customer Service, Accounting, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, Safety & Security, and Hourly Staff.

External Contacts:

  • Current and future customers, agents, vendors, competitors, government representatives, and other service providers.

Travel Requirements:

  • Regular domestic and international travel, occasionally exceeding one week.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall performance of field service operations in KSA and Bahrain.

  • Direct supervision of Field Service Employees.

  • Full authority in hiring, discipline, discharge, performance appraisal, and salary planning.

Background and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 10-15 years of experience in the field of turbo machinery service and maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of global turbo machinery/rotating equipment (Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Pumps etc.) application, installation, operation, and overhaul methods and techniques.

  • Familiarity with chemical, petrochemical, general industrial, and power generation industries.

  • Extensive knowledge in commercial, quality management systems (QMS), technical training, warranty, and Root Cause Analysis.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Primavera, and Oracle.

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing skills.

  • Ability to work beyond normal office hours and on weekends if required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously and deliver alternate solutions.

  • Culturally aware and able to modify behaviors appropriately in various management scenarios.

  • Ability to perform under pressure and in unfamiliar situations.
