Dar-us-Sakina is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing inclusive opportunities and support to individuals with disabilities and their caregivers in the Muslim community of Houston. 

Job Summary 

The Supports Supervisor is responsible for oversight of Dar-us-Sakina’s Supports related programs.  Dar-us-Sakina’s Supports Programs address the special needs family as a unit, providing social opportunities,  caregiver training, and resource support to individuals with disabilities and their caregivers. The ideal candidate for Supports Supervisor is someone who is compassionate, familiar with disability resources, and has outstanding organizational and management skills. The Supports Supervisor reports to the Program Director.

Job Responsibilities 

Case Management Oversight and Documentation

• Overseeing and supporting Case Management staff in tailored assistance for special needs families in crisis

• Ensuring that casework is adequately documented and in compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations

• Surveying closed cases to monitor progress and effectiveness of intervention

• Maintaining quality data to be used for solicitation of funding/grants

• Keeping Dar-us-Sakina’s Resource Guide and Procedural Manual up to date for staff use

Event Planning and Supervision

• Scheduling of events to support families with special needs, including social opportunities and educational workshops for caregivers

• Creating flyers and coordinating marketing on social media

• Planning and implementation of events in conjunction with Event and Volunteer Coordinators

• Tracking of event budgets and expenditures

• Conducting post-event surveys and organizing/assessing resulting data

Education and Outreach

• Creating and sharing supportive educational content and resources on Dar-us-Sakina’s social media platforms

• Networking and building partnerships with other local disability-related organizations

Job Skills and Qualifications

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Experience managing teams and projects under tight deadlines 

• Proficient in managing and meeting budgets

• Proven ability to collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and external vendors

• Proficient in use of the following platforms:

  • G Suite

  • Canva

  • Mailchimp (or other email marketing platform)

• Bachelor's degree or higher in related field preferred (Human Services, Psychology, Social Work)

Locations and Commitments

• Part-time hourly employee position

• Dedicated in office days

• Some local travel by car depending on where events are being held

• Role reports to Program Director
