Graduate Engineer - Geotechnical

AECOM is seeking a motivated graduate to join our team as a Graduate Engineer - Geotechnical/Ground Engineering in our Abu Dhabi office.

This role is part of our prestigious 2024 Graduate Program, offering the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, gain exposure to diverse projects, and develop essential skills in geotechnical design and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Develops designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and project models as per specific discipline requirement. Works on drawings under the supervision of an experienced Engineer.

• Assists with the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs under project timelines.

• Under Supervision, performs work following the agreed-upon budget and schedule.

• Uses computer software as a tool for solving fundamental engineering problems.

• Coordinates with other discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process.

• Participates in design progress and coordination meetings.

• Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.

• Contributes by solving problems and applying experience or theoretical knowledge to atypical assignments.

There will be the opportunity to gain experience in the use of some of the following software packages:

• Slope Stability Analysis - Slope/W or Slide

• Seepage Analysis - Seep/W

• FEM 2D and 3D - Plaxis or RS2/3 or Sigma/W or FLAC

• Pile Analysis - Repute, Group and LPile

• Stress and Settlement Analysis - PDisp or Settle 3D

• Liquefaction Analysis - CLiq or Liquefy-Pro

• Geotechnical Database and Geological Modelling - gINT and Leap Frog

• Geographic Information Systems (GIS) - ARCGIS

This role is ideal for someone is interested in a blend of design and hands-on site experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in one or more of the following subjects from an accredited University

• Geotechnical Engineering

• Civil Engineering

• Engineering Geology

• Geological Engineering

• Foundation Engineering

• Soil Mechanics

• Rock Mechanics

• Rock Engineering

• Mining Engineering

• Candidates must be recent graduates, having graduated within the last 24 months or no later than September 2024, to be eligible for AECOM's Graduate Program.

• Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.3 or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above.

• If you hold a Master's Degree, it should have started within 12 months of completing your Bachelor's Degree to ensure continuous education and meet program requirements.

• Candidates with more than 1 year of postgraduate work experience are not eligible for the program and are encouraged to apply for our professional-level roles instead.
