About The Role
At Tarteel, we’re helping Muslims engage with their faith more intimately and build a stronger relationship with the Quran. Unfortunately, not all the Muslims in our target demographic are aware of Tarteel and our unique product offering that can drastically improve their engagement with the Quran. As a Marketing Manager, you will help bring Tarteel to the masses, making Muslims around the globe aware of our product, the unique value proposition, and driving them to support our vision and mission.
As an early employee, you will own all the operations related to marketing and community development. You will be the main point of contact to many influencers and partners we’ve worked with over the past few years, helping them shape and deliver the Tarteel narrative in their content. You will also drive a lot of the narrative both within our products and externally when running ads and marketing campaigns.
Working in the Islamic eco-system requires a certain degree of foresight and nuance in terms of messaging. The role requires sufficient strategic competency to determine the risk factors and potential consequences associated with developing religiously oriented content and marketing. Ultimately, you will help us build and maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of online and offline marketing channels.
Responsibilities
The role will be largely self-directed with high level objectives:
- Establish positioning, identify target audiences, and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments
- Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution
- Propose and manage marketing research projects to generate consumer insights in support of improved marketing strategy and communications. Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies, increase customer conversions, and generate more qualified leads
- Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels like content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis
- Identify potential new markets and create plans to enter the market
- Partner with and manage regional creative teams, other internal stakeholders, and external agencies and vendors
- Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry stakeholders, institutions, and organizations
- Produce valuable and engaging content for our website, blog, and social media that attracts and converts our target groups
- Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics
- Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals. Evaluate the impact of marketing programs in achieving their stated objectives, including impact on lead flow, LTV and retention
- Analyze consumer behavior and adjust email and advertising campaigns accordingly
Desired experience and skills
Required Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in marketing, helping develop strategy and direction for various results oriented campaigns
- Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate
- Experience with running digital ad campaigns on facebook, youtube, and tiktok.
- Hands-on experience with various analytics tools
- Creating, managing, tracking, and analyzing key sales funnels
- Managing budgets and creating proposals for marketing spend
- Managing social media pages and running social ad campaigns
- Fostering relationships with influencers and organizational partners
- Running email campaigns and managing CRM tools
- Generating key learnings and reporting campaign performance to others
- Producing marketing content such as images, videos, and blog posts
Skill Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills and high-level proficiency in English
- Strong ability towards problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Self-starter that thrives in a culture of autonomy and optimizes for self-growth / continued learning
- Ability to think creatively to turn ideas into effective marketing projects.
- A great sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and engaging communication, with an eye for great emails and landing pages
- Strong project management skills
- Budget-management skills and proficiency
- Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets
- Sufficient understanding of the Muslim Demographic and their purchasing behaviors

Preferred Background
- BS or MS in marketing, business, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role
- Familiarity with analytics tools (ex. Firebase, Google Analytics/Tag Manager, Mixpanel etc.)
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripts (ex. Zapier, Airtable, Retool, etc.)
- Familiarity with content creation tools (ex. Veed, Figma, HootSuite etc.)

Contract Details
- This is a full-time position
- Our team and the posted position is fully remote and spans across various timezones requiring unique working hours based on your location
- Flexible work hours
- Work directly with the core founding team
- Compensation Expectation - Competitive salary based on experience and location.
Notes
- We use project management and communications tools such as Notion, Discord, Slack, Google Docs, etc. (will require quick adoption although past experience is not necessary)
- Knowledge of other languages is a plus but not required.
- Past experience with the Muslim market is a plus but not required.
- Out of the box thinking, continuous experimentation, and iteration is encouraged
