Through educational programs, digital content, and global campaigns, we aim to nurture hearts and homes rooted in Prophetic guidance. **ROLE** CelebrateMercy is seeking an experienced and results-driven Development Director to lead the organization's fundraising strategy, strengthen donor relationships, and drive sustainable revenue growth. This key leadership position is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, growing and diversifying revenue streams, personally cultivating and securing major gifts, and leading the Development team. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on fundraiser, with a proven track record of achieving fundraising goals, building meaningful donor relationships, and leading high-performing teams. They will work closely with the Executive Director and other department leaders to advance CelebrateMercy's mission and long-term growth. This position is remote for daily work but requires travel for fundraising events, donor meetings, and staff retreats. ### **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** **Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth** - Develop and lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals and financial needs. - Set fundraising targets, develop annual plans, and ensure accountability for achieving revenue goals. - Grow and diversify revenue streams, including major gifts, monthly giving, individual donations, campaigns, and institutional funding. - Identify new fundraising opportunities and strategies to strengthen long-term financial sustainability. **Major Donor Cultivation & Stewardship** - Personally cultivate, solicit, and secure major gifts while building and managing a pipeline of prospective donors. - Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with major donors and prospective supporters. - Develop and oversee personalized cultivation and stewardship strategies for key donors. - Implement strategies to improve donor acquisition, retention, engagement, and giving. **Campaigns & Cross-Team Collaboration** - Provide strategic direction for major fundraising campaigns, including Ramadan, GivingTuesday, and other seasonal initiatives. - Collaborate closely with Marketing, Programs, and other departments to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities. - Oversee fundraising events, donor engagement initiatives, and special campaigns. - Evaluate campaign results and identify opportunities for improvement. **Development Team Leadership** - Lead, mentor, and develop the Development team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. - Establish clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations for team members. - Build effective systems and processes to support a growing fundraising operation. - Identify staffing and resource needs to support the organization's growth. **Data, Systems & Performance Management** - Oversee donor data management, CRM utilization, and fundraising reporting. - Use donor insights, segmentation, and performance metrics to strengthen fundraising strategies. - Monitor fundraising performance, identify trends, and adjust strategies to improve results. - Provide regular reports, projections, and recommendations to executive leadership. ### **QUALIFICATIONS** - Bachelor's degree required. - 7+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or development, including leadership or management experience. - **Proven track record of personally securing major gifts, growing fundraising revenue, and achieving measurable fundraising goals.** - Strong understanding of donor cultivation, stewardship, recurring giving, and fundraising campaigns. - Demonstrated ability to develop fundraising strategies and translate them into measurable results. - Experience leading, mentoring, and developing teams. - Excellent relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Experience with donor CRM systems, fundraising analytics, and performance reporting. - Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on fundraising and execution in a growing nonprofit. - Willingness to travel several times per year. - A sincere interest in the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and a desire to contribute to work that helps others know, love, and follow him. ### **COMPENSATION** - Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. - Bonuses may be awarded based on individual performance and organizational results. ### **BENEFITS** - Paid time off and paid holidays - Paid maternity and paternity leave ### **TO APPLY** To apply for this position:[ CelebrateMercy.org/Apply](https://www.celebratemercy.org/apply) To view all open positions:[ CelebrateMercy.org/Career](https://www.celebratemercy.org/career) ### **QUESTIONS?** If you have any questions about jobs at CelebrateMercy, email us at [career@celebratemercy.com](mailto:career@celebratemercy.com). ## How to apply Apply at: https://CelebrateMercy.org/Apply ## About CelebrateMercy CelebrateMercy is a U.S. based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that teaches about the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ’s life and character – to Muslims and the general public.
