**Job Description:**

Job Title: PE Coach                                                                            Reports to: Principal

Department: Academics                                                                  Position Type: Full-Time

Work Hours: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (Mon, Tue, Thu), 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (Wed), 7:30 – 4:00 (Fri)

Will be occasionally called on weekends for events

**Job Overview: **

The PE Teacher is employed to work closely with the school principal to develop and deliver a PE program across the school that is both educational and physically beneficial. They are expected to play a full role in both programs and contribute to the wider school community where possible.

**Responsibilities and Duties:**

** **

·      To further raise the profile, participation levels and enjoyment of the PE program

·      Encourage students to develop their skills in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities Meet course and school-wide student performance goals

·      Conducting instructional classes

·      Responsible for the delivery and planning of quality skills-based PE lessons following the instructional methods developed in coordination of the principals

·      Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed

·      Responsible for equipment preparation for lessons, equipment inventory, and the maintenance of PE equipment and resources

·      Work as part of the teaching team; attend and contribute to team and staff meetings

·      Understand and apply school policies

·      Carry out safety procedures and help to safeguard students as prescribed by school policy

·      Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities

·      Prepare and distribute required reports

·      Observe and evaluate student’s performance

·      Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures

·      Attend training as requested by the school

·      The above duties are not limited and can be adjusted at any time as needed for the success of the organization.

**Qualifications: **

- Bachelor’s degree of related subject from accredited university
- Texas teaching certificate
- Experience is preferred but not necessary for hiring
