## Purpose of the Role

The Imam & Head of Education will provide religious leadership, oversee the Centre's educational programmes and contribute to the growth of Al Furqan's online dawah. The successful candidate will inspire worshippers, nurture students, mentor teachers and produce beneficial Islamic content that reaches audiences beyond the local community.

## Key Responsibilities

### Religious Leadership

- Lead the five daily prayers.
- Deliver regular reminders and Islamic talks.
- Conduct Islamic classes for adults and youth.
- Provide religious guidance to members of the community.
- Support community events throughout the year.
- Represent Al Furqan Centre professionally at external events.

### Education

- Lead and manage the madrasah.
- Supervise and mentor teaching staff.
- Develop curriculum and lesson plans.
- Monitor student attendance and progress.
- Improve educational standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents.
- Organise examinations and student assessments.
- Ensure safeguarding and educational policies are followed.

### Online Dawah

- Produce regular Islamic video reminders.
- Present educational content for social media.
- Work with the media team to develop engaging online content.
- Help expand Al Furqan's digital reach nationally and internationally.
- Participate in podcasts, interviews and educational series where appropriate.

### Leadership

- Lead by example through excellent character and professionalism.
- Mentor volunteers and junior staff.
- Support strategic planning with the Centre Manager and Trustees.
- Promote teamwork across all departments.
- Help develop future Islamic teachers and community leaders.

### Community Engagement

- Build relationships with local organisations and communities.
- Attend community programmes and outreach events.
- Support revert care and educational initiatives.
- Participate in fundraising and awareness campaigns where appropriate.

## Essential Requirements

- Strong Islamic knowledge grounded in the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah.
- Ability to deliver engaging lessons and reminders.
- Experience leading congregational prayers.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organisational ability.
- Experience managing educational programmes or a madrasah.
- Confident using technology and social media.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Hafidh of the Qur'an.
- Must already live in UK as we do not sponsor from abroad.

## Desirable

- Arabic speaking.
- Experience in online dawah.
- Video presentation or public speaking experience.
- Experience managing staff.
- Safeguarding knowledge.
- First Aid qualification.
